Prenatal checkup

Monday, 20th December 2010. I went to prenatal checkup today. Little bambino is healthy. He is now 2.2kg in weight. His right kidney still appears to be bright and enlarged. The doctor told me not to worry too much. But as a mother, this kills. I’m going to see the nephrologist next week for further observation . Hopefully he is fine.

Christmas break

Friday, 17th December 2010. The office is now closed for 2 weeks for Christmas break and back on business on New Year, 3rd January 2011. It is a compulsory leave for everyone. Need to handover bits and pieces when the office reopen, after that I'll be on maternity leave, and have a lot of rest. Bump is getting heavier and bigger. And NO, if you ever wondering I did not quit yet, my office admin told me to resign after the maternity leave. She said I deserve to get the maternity pay.

PIC Christmas party

Tuesday, 14th December 2010 was our company Christmas party, so I headed down to Intercontinental hotel around 8.00pm. It was a great night, and not to mention the foods was toothsome! Having everyone together that night was enjoyable. My hope was hopefully from this gathering we could develop a camaraderie among all of us and building a better workplace culture. Arrived home around 12am. Everyone was pretty much wasted and over-indulge and failed to turn up the next day for work.

Career or Baby?

I’m in dilemma, I don’t know if I should leave or stay with the company. I’d like to get the half pay 45days period I deserve while on maternity. I’d like to stay with this company long as well since I am kind of good at what I am doing and hello it is the world's largest independent international financial consultancy –who would want to leave? Plus getting a new job is tedious.
Sadly, I am not happy working in my current company, everything feels like a burden and I am not satisfied with the pay. Nobody seems to f****** notice that I AM REALLY PREGNANT and CAN’T DO WORK LIKE A MACHINE ANYMORE. The amount of work ever since I move to new office is just unbearable. I feel like I have done so much and get paid less. This is just too much to handle.
Maybe I should leave and stay home with the baby. Can’t choose carrier over baby, that is wrong. I can always find a job later once the baby is settled. Nothing is more important than him. About my dream of having half pay, it’s not much anyway. (though I can buy two 16GB IPAD with 3G + Wifi).
Baby comes first!

Shopping for little bambino

I went shopping for the baby at Mothercare and Mamas & Papas yesterday. Bought push chair, cellular blanket, mattress, muslin squares, changing bag, etc. Look at baby checklist, I still need to buy nappies and wipes, breast pump, vests and sleepsuits, hat, mittens and booties, moses basket, crib or cradle.

Oh i want to be a millionaire, so freaking bad... money.. money... I will update you more in the coming days.

2nd 3D Ultrasound

Week 28 and Week 30. This is amazing! I was beyond believe when I saw this 3D ultrasound picture. It's so clear. My friends said he's got my lips. Well, doesn't really matter if he looks like me or my husband, i just want him to be healthy. I love the 1st picture, he is imitating my duckface. Like mother like son. LOL. He is so adorable.

Summer break - MOSCOW

I applied 2 weeks leave for Eid. I went to visit my parents in Moscow. Again this time, I puked all the way in the plane 5 hours. Moscow is a beautiful city. It was summer but cold at that time. My other siblings went there as well. It was kind of like family gathering for us since we are all over the place, I'm in Abu Dhabi, my parents are in Moscow, and my other siblings are in Malaysia. It was nice to see them. The first wonders I saw in Moscow was Yuri Gagarin statue – (Yuri Gagarin was the first man who went to the space). The wonderful statue was placed about 10 minutes from my parent’s house. Second wonders was the famous seven sisters building, you can see all of them through observation point. We visited many historical & tourist attractions places like Saint Basil's Cathedral & Kremlin in Red Square, Monument to the Conquerors of Space, Arbat Street, Moskva River, Izmailovskaya and many more. Special thanks to those who tourguided and helped us translating and communicating with the locals due to language barrier. As for Eid, we just went to Malaysian embassy for Eid prayers and they served traditional foods for breakfast later. 2 weeks are just not enough!

Morning sickness

The first trimester was a nightmare. I have no idea why they call it ‘morning’ sickness as the irritations from pregnancy - nausea, vomiting and dizziness don’t occur in the morning only, it affects day-and-night-everyday-for-3-months! It does really leave me exhausted and miserable. I had an incredible nausea if my stomach was empty. Have to eat as soon as I got up in the morning, otherwise I would puke. Cracker was the only thing I was able to swallow and I lost 6 kilos due to that. I also had food and smell aversions, like I couldn't stand the smell of onions, garlic and ginger or cook anything, I would feel sicker. And the weirdest part was, I can’t even look at or eat chicken, I just can’t. Had bad craving for potatoes and black ketchup, it was a must have food every day.

I'm pregnant !

I was in Malaysia for a short break when I found out I was pregnant. I puked all the way for 6 hours during the journey back home. Went to see Dr. the next day and she told me I was 5 weeks already!

Beach Volleyball

Living in Abu Dhabi is vibrant regardless expensive accommodation, expensive dining out, expensive taxi fare, expensive education, expensive shoes, expensive clothing, expensive handbag and plenty of sun but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying my new weekend outdoor recreation which is beach volleyball.

Need to know...

On my previous post, I have mentioned about me expecting a call from one company, and guest what? They called at 3.30pm yesterday and set an interview at 5.30pm, the same day. So I went and the interview went well. Thanks God for making it easy. Mr Skipper was a nice and straightforward person. If I got the job, I’ll be working for him. And now I can’t help looking at my handphone every 5mins hoping there would be a call from them. I am so eagerly and impatiently need to know if i was accepted or not. I hope i get the job. *finger-crossed*

waiting anxiously...

Nothing’s new thesedays, I was busy gaming on Facebook. I influenced Saiful to sign up and play along, consequences he became chronically obsessed and competed diligently to beat my level. All I can do is LMAO!

I’m still not giving up on searching for a job. Of course some people might surrender after sending more than 20 applications but never received any single phone calls.

I went for an interview last month, I don’t think I get the job, they haven’t called ever since. But it’s ok, it was indeed sort of a practice for me to know how the interview session were conducted in Abu Dhabi. Well to say, there were not much differences except they don’t look at your cert in first meeting. I don’t know if is it only this company or what. I shall find out later.

Just about couple of minutes ago, I received a phone call from anonymous number, picked it up and it was the manager for one of the job that I applied for. It took me several minutes to remember the company’s profile. I feel like I was standing at the end of the cliff waiting to be pushed off. I felt rude not able to recall and scared that It would give me bad impression. Well people said first impression is important although it was only by phone! But I think that went well, got an appointment this Wed, at 11am.But I wasn’t really expecting for this phone call… I was waiting for… here the stories goes…

On 5th March, I went job search again through online advertisement. I found one and submitted my resume on the spot. About 30 mins later, the manager called, I believe he’s a British man. We discussed lil bit of this and that and he shall submit my resume to HR department and she will call me today. So here I am waiting anxiously for their phone call.

Go shorty, it's my birthday!

I am now 23 year old. I can’t ask for anything more than just good health, love and happiness. I got my birthday gift from my hubby about 1 month ago and again, it’s a handphone. For 3 consecutive years he’s been giving me handphone for my birthday gift coz I kept on losing them. It’s like a curse. I don’t know, it just weird. And losing handphone is extremely stressful because I lost all the contacts, whole year photos, future reminders on birthdays, exams, etc. I’m such a careless person and how I wish I could change that.

Mom called just now, i had to fight tears that fill up in my eyes from falling, she might as well crying and dad send me text msg, this is like the first time he wishes through sms since I’m far away. Thank you mom and dad for bringing me to the world, for giving me life, and for being there always. You both will always be beautiful in my eyes.

I received so many wishes from friends! Well, thank you! You guys just made my day!

Well my age resolution this year is to be a good wife and cook more delicious foods. Also I’d like to lessen up my eating habit as I’ve been enjoying my foods more than ever. Despite how horribly depressed I was about my weight, I never did anything about it. So hopefully i can start exercising and grow healthier and prettier.

what is a housewife without scars?

I think out of friends that I got, I probably the clumsiest ones. I mean, who would slice her finger open and bleed profusely trying to cook anything? Someone should really record me on tape and post the video to ‘Most dangerous moments caught on tape’. I probably will win the first place. I even slip the knives on a daily basis and never remember to put band aids around, then i squeeze the lemon! :(( how slow am i?

Living in a great city of Abu Dhabi

The need to update.
I always wanted to update, blogging used to be my hobby though I tend to ignore them sometime but I miss writing, really. Frankly, I felt relieved and calmed after letting my thoughts out, and for some odd reason, I feel appreciated, I know it doesn’t make any sense out of the universe combined but its true.

How's life?
Life in oil-rich Abu Dhabi state is interesting. They got eight lane highways (trust me I counted it myself), shopping malls, and international hotels that looks so glamorous and huge. You see foreign workers, especially from Philippine everywhere. When I say everywhere it’s like 50% out of populations here. It’s so exotic. I must also say the safety here is beyond terrific that you don’t have to be worried wandering the streets, even at night, and you would be very unlikely to be attacked or mugged.

But the cost of living here is insanely expensive, from groceries, clothing, house rentals, eating outs, etc. But it’s all good and I survived – chubbier! Hmm… I don’t get to stay out of the house that often, but I’ve seen many. Saiful works like 50 hours a week. He got home around 7pm; work half day on Friday and off only on Saturday. I'm currently a fulltime housewife which is good at this particular moment because i can sleep whenever i want and watch The Simpsons on TV. Though i must admit it drives me crazy sometime. I did google some jobs, just waiting for the right moment to be employed.

What's new?
We went window shopping last night and no more sales except for esprit. Bought shirts for my sister.
We played volleyball and roller blade by the beach sometimes.

Random talk.
Sports stuffs are quite cheaper compared to Malaysia because most Arabs people don’t do sports, they only interested in sports car! DAMN! You should really see their car! Ufrghh. Well, nuff said.

I think I have insomnia. Really.

HAPPY BELATED VALENTINE'S DAY TO EVERYONE!

Second day

Wedding ceremony in bridegroom’s site, Taiping. As u can see on my first pic, Marche was there again (wearing orange) right behind me. I love her. Well the ceremony in Taiping went fine, though it rained in the afternoon. The food was super delicious. I can't hold my appetite and yes i eat like horse and cleaned my plate with another scoop spoonfuls of rice.

Big Day

These are the pictures from my wedding ceremony. Thank God, everything ran smooth as I wished.

I would like to show my deepest gratitude to my parents, who did not have enough sleep in order to make everything perfect, I heart you very much!

My bride’s maid, Norul and my flower girls Marche, Enduk, Su and Fit for making it easy and helping me throughout the day before and after the event. I don’t know how I could have done it without you guys. Thank you for making everything went so well and support me through the entire process. I love you guys!

Well not to mention the ‘kampung community’ for all their help in the kitchen especially, the food was nice and satisfied any hunger beasts. Thank you all!

I am now officially Mrs Saiful. The solemnization was held at Ar-Ridzuan mosque in Sg. Dua, Penang. The ceremony ran smoothly. It started at 10am. Tomorrow will be wedding reception at Dewan Sq. Dua. And day after that will be the reception at the bridegroom’s place which is in Taiping.

Malacca is fun! Leave me alone

12th December 2009, Saturday
Yeay it’s Saturday again. I’ve been counting days and it does suffer the wait. And if you wonder why I’m counting till sat, I’m going to Malacca again. Hey it’s near and it’s a nice place so you go to hell if you don’t like it! I went with Is and his sister. On a way we’d stopped at Seremban to attend wedding. Nice food and we stuffed, makes us more ready to hit the road to our destination. We went to Dataran Pahlawan it’s in the city, there were historical buildings nearby and stairs to go on top of the hill, where placed an old church. You can see the sunset from there and that is what we were aiming for.
I drove halfway back to KL, as they were all exhausted. That is all for now, good night everybody.

Noor Ain Abdul Halim

Old Town White Coffee Cyberjaya
Pink and adorable

Baskin Robbin

6th December 2009, Sunday

My friend back in Sek Men came visited today. I’m so glad that she came by. Her name is Noor Ain Abdul Halim. I drove her to Alamanda and we did some window shopping and had a Baskin Robbins. There are so many things to catch up with her, so many stories to tell, and hot gossips, ufff. Well, of course, we haven’t met for 6 years. What do you expect? I don’t even know where to start. We kind of lost contact when I was in Pakistan and I’m so happy I get to talk and hang out with her again. She bought me cooking book for my wedding present. Well, I need that, deeply.

We got tired of Alamanda and bounced to Old Town in Cyberjaya next, (my favorite place always) and had Laksa for dinner. Scrumptious I tell yah! She couldn’t sleep over at my place, it was not enough of her today. I wish she could stay. I missed her. I’m going back hometown next week and and I’ll be in UAE on 1st Jan 2010 for 3 months, I don’t think I can see her again in this short period of time. It was a heartrending moment when I gave her a goodbye hug. Anyway thanks Ain for coming, I appreciate it and thanks for the present.

Say cheeze!

5th December 2009, Saturday
We bounced to Malacca for outdoor photography session. Malacca is a historic place and very fascinating at night with its colorful lights and ‘Jonker Walk’ especially. I’m starting to enjoy picture shooting because of Is. He taught me how to use the camera when we went for karaoke and I got my first picture snapped on my camera and it turned out pretty good thus got me excited and eagerly to learn more after that. It’s a good start. For now, I’m using Canon G10 and borrowed his Nikon D90.
We reached Malacca late evening and first thing we did was take a tour on Malacca river cruise. The surroundings along the river were really nice that I don’t feel like getting out of the boat. Our next destination was Malacca Eye on Malaysia. Damn that thing was freaking scary.
Hungry and thirsty and yes our tummy needs to be feed, so we drove to nearby restaurant and had yummy seafood. I’m so stuffed that could barely move. Hah! There was a port full of ‘sampan’ and boats, which is so peaceful to be and look at. It’s fascinating. We took picture there and yes again I got a lovely shot. :D
I got home around 2am. I was exhausted but it was worth as I learned something tonight. Can’t wait for our next outdoor.
